Uzma Ufaq has a diverse portfolio as a practicing lawyer. She graduated from Punjab University with an LLB in 1994 and started her career as a Special Public Prosecutor in Pakistan. Additionally, she also worked with several not-for-profit organizations such as Canadian International Development Authority (CIDA), The Asia Foundation and British Council.

Uzma has also had the honor of working with local community establishments, such as Legal Aid, Women Aid, Dar-ul-Aman (women shelter home) partaking in awareness workshops for child and women safety.

Uzma has pleaded cases in High Court and Federal Shariah Court of Pakistan. Her work involved family law, but she mostly represented and defended cases for female victims of abuse and harassment.
She immigrated to Canada in 2009 and started volunteering at the local YMCA to assist and facilitate workshops held for new immigrants and refugees. Alongside, she started studying to practice law in Canada.

She procured her practicing license in 2013 and set up her own practice in Mississauga. The main areas of practice were Residential and Commercial Real Estate, Wills and Estate Planning and Notarization. She started from a small practice, which has seen immense growth. Uzma and Khalid Law professional corporation is serving the local community from two locations with experienced and qualified staff.
